FRIENDS OF MARSHFIELD ANIMAL SHELTER

GIVING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2020

We caught up this past weekend with Vicky Lynch from the Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter to congratulate her on the recent placement of shelter dog, Finn. Finn had captured the hearts of many folks on the South Shore when his progress had been documented by his local foster and trainer, Tracy Britt. Following nearly a year of rehabilitation and training along with many placement interviews— Finn found his forever home in early November.

Vicky and I discussed 2020 and as we enter 2021 COVID-19 outbreaks and evolving restrictions continue to present us all with many different challenges. The need to rescue homeless, neglected and abused pets along with help for struggling pet owners will continue.

The concern is that during the months ahead, many people may face continued financial challenges, which may in turn limit their ability to care for their pets.

They are counting on us now more than ever.

The Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter’s mission is to assist the Marshfield Animal Shelter and struggling pet owners with food, veterinary care, spay and neuter services and enrichment for their pets.

Thanks to all who have reached out over the years asking how you can help animals at the Marshfield Animal Shelter. With your continued support The Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter (FOMAS) can continue working in our community and assisting with the following;

FOMAS programs aim to end pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter services available directly through them or other partner organizations;

FOMAS Assists struggling pet owners with food and/or veterinary care;

And, animals in the community that may be injured or at risk of neglect, abuse, surrender, or abandonment, may also benefit from other assistance and programs available through FOMAS or through referrals to other similar agencies.

This Giving Tuesday, supporters of Friends of the Marshfield Animal Shelter can create a Facebook fundraiser on their behalf and ask followers to donate to help our four-legged friends.
