Rising to the Occassion

Jim recalls closing up the Club on March 16 and reopening again on March 17 with renewed strategies to maintain and uphold the same mission; to be there for their kids and their community. It started with taking on the task of providing school children with meals that they no longer would be getting from school. In conjunction with the volunteer school district staff who help deliver the meals to kids around town, the Boys and Girls Club hosts a curbside meal pickup 2 days a week to provide a week’s worth of meals.

Need doesn't always match up with the availability of formal support. The Ferry Hill Center’s network of caring supporters is committed to being available to any family that is struggling and unable to secure formal support at that moment.

“Together we are able to reach out and collect donations to stock a pantry, purchase groceries or take care of urgent needs."

This intersection of charities is working in conjunction with the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce, local and state officials, and the individuals and families of the town. It exists as a way for local nonprofits such as the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield, the Marshfield Food Pantry, and Sowing Seeds to continue providing financial aid to the most economically vulnerable families and individuals in town.
